About the Captain
Captain Rob Weinschenk is an experienced inshore fishing guide Charleston, South Carolina. Born in Caracas, Venezuela, he began fishing at an early age for Peacock bass, Payara, and Piranha in the southern plains of Venezuela. Additional opportunities to live in overseas locations with family allowed Rob to fish in such majestic places as Venezuela, Patagonia, Chile, Tierra del Fuego, New Zealand, Australia and Spain. Relocated to upstate New York, he became interested in the art of fly fishing and fly tying. After catching Trout and Steelhead on hand tied creations he was truly hooked on fly fishing and has focused on it ever since.
Several additional family relocations allowed him to fish extensively in Texas, Georgia, South Florida and Charleston, South Carolina, which has been his permanent home for the past 21 years. He has focused on inshore fly fishing in Charleston SC, for Sea Trout and Redfish. At certain times of the year artificial lure and bait can be used with good success.
Rob’s main focus is fly fishing the inland waters of Charleston SC, however, charters with bait or artificial lures are also available.
